Meet Jane

After working in a busy corporate environment for many years at a senior management level I realised I needed something to help me maintain my health. I found this firstly through yoga, and then acupuncture. In time, I realised I wanted to offer the benefits of both yoga and acupuncture to other people.

I have a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture from the Northern College of Acupuncture and I am a fully insured member of the British Acupuncture Council. I am also licensed to practice as an acupuncturist by Harrogate Borough Council and York City Council, so you can be sure you are in safe hands.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of ancient Chinese medicine using fine needles whch are inserted into the body. Widely used in China as a primary form of healthcare, it is now becoming more commonplace in western medicine. as healthcare professionals such as GP’s, nurses and physiotherapists see the value of acupuncture and take short courses, so they can integrate simple elements of acupuncture into their own practice.

Acupuncture is often thought of as a treatment for musculoskeletal issues and pain. and it can be really good for that. But it can also bring the functioning of the body into balance through the hormonal and nervous systems. These systems govern your body’s daily processes, and imbalance causes many common health issues, such as stress, headaches, insomnia, digestive problems, and fatigue. Click on the links at the side of this page to find out more about how acupuncture could help you.

Treatment is usually painless, although you may be aware of sensations. You can find answers to most of your questions about acupuncture here, or you can contact me for more information.

You’ll find my clinic at the Serenity Centre on Montpellier Street in Harrogate.

Yoga

Yoga is a fantastic practice to give you tools to manage your daily life. The physical practice can help you become stronger, more flexible, and provide a focus to calm a busy mind. Sitting quietly, breathing or meditating, can help calm the nervous system relieving the stress that contributes to many illnesses.

I am  a qualified and insured yoga teacher, trained at Mandala Yoga Ashram, and I have been teaching in the Harrogate area for eight years

My yoga classes are at The Green Hut, Harlow Avenue, Harrogate. Contact me if you would like to join the waiting list for classes.

I was astonished. I slept right through. This is unheard of for me, I’d given up on sleeping all night.
